Happy October! I can’t believe it’s autumn already, but here we are! How time flies. They say we’re going to have a colder than usual winter here in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US. Personally, I hope they’re wrong.
On the weight loss front, I’ve been having some good days and some bad days lately. Weekends continue to be the biggest problem. However, I did lose 1.4 pounds at my Weight Watchers® weigh-in last Wednesday. Since this weekend was probably worse than the previous weekend, I’ll be hoping to break even for this week’s weigh-in.
If you’re a regular reader of this blog, then you know that my father has been in an assisted living facility for the last three months. He has been doing a lot better, and will be going back to his home in two weeks. He’s still going to need assistance, and his driving days are definitely behind him, but we’re going to see how he can manage at the house for a while. Both of my brothers will be living there with him, so he won’t be all alone.
I got into a debate with one of my lunch buddies at work today over the correct pronunciation of the word “adult”. My friend contended that it is pronounced uh-dult (like the ‘a’ sound in the word ‘another’), and I said it should be pronounced aah-dult (like the ‘a’ sound in the word ’stack’). When I got back to my desk, I looked it up on Merriam-Webster online, and it turns out that both pronunciations are acceptable. Here, check it out for yourself if you don’t believe me – “adult”.
That’s all for tonight’s post and educational lesson! Have a good week, everyone!

Nice job on the weight loss.
Thanks! Hopefully, I can keep it up!
